About

Scuba Sport Magazine is a bi-monthly scuba diving magazine, as well as a diving/underwater lifestyle magazine. It’s focus is the diving community as well as provides special attention to top side activities to engage non-divers while their significant others are out on the dive boat. Many active divers only have the opportunity to pursue their passion three or four times a year. Or, they plan scuba diving excursions while on vacation with the family. One of the most common questions that divers receive when pitching a travel idea to their spouses/significant others has always been “What am I (the kids) going to do while you’re out diving?”. Scuba Sport understands this dilemna. Which is why we include amenities and adventures to keep the entire family engaged while you’re chasing barracudas, sharks and sea turtles. We are the only scuba diving magazine that offers this focus.

The concept for the Scuba Sport Magazine was created by long-time diver and writer/photographer Joe Froelich, with help from Fred Garth (editor of Guy Harvey Magazine, and former editor of Scuba Times, Fathoms and Southern Diver Magazines). Froelich, a SSI Platinum Pro 5000 recipient, has had articles and/or photos published in in such scuba diving magazines as Sport Diver, Scuba Diving, Skin Diver, Southern Diver, Dive Training, Scuba News, Discover Diving, Florida Underwater, and Dive Report Magazines. He also served as a featured columnist for the Scuba News where his photos graced the cover a record 19 times, and EcoFlorida Magazines. He also has photos in the books: REEF Creature ID, Ned Deloach’s Underwater Florida, and Reef Fishes.

The scuba diving magazine has gone from a prototype to a print circulation of 17500 in only 6 issues. It is currently being distributed through a network of over 400 dive centers in 37 different states.
